Super Sneaky Non-Ab Ab Exercises

So, you want flat abs and you want flat abs now? And you're bored with the standard set of crunches, leg lifts, situps, blah, blah, blah. I've got some better options for you that are not only high intensity but great for boosting your metabolism.

Here is a great, non-direct ab exercise program. These are in a "tri-set" format (this is similar to a super-set).

A. Renegade Dumbbell Rows

B. Front Squats with Barbell

C. Mountain Climbers on Floor

You should be doing 3-5 sets of 8 reps per exercise (you could also do more sets and less reps - like 5 sets at 5 reps per). The Mountain climbing exercise can be done in a 30 second interval set instead of reps.

A. Renegade Dumbbell Rows
These are done by starting in a pushup position with your hands on 2 dumbbells (used to prop your body higher). Row one dumbbell up while balancing your body with the other arm. Bring the dumbbell back to the ground and alternate the rowing arm, again while balancing with the opposite arm. The balancing effect is creating a lot of work for your mid-section core. You WILL FEEL this in your abs. With a strong core comes great flat abs.

B. Front Squats With Barbell
These squats are done similar to back squats. In this exercise, the barbell is resting on the front of your shoulders (not the back of your neck like back squats). Cross your arms and push your fists into the bar to stabilize it (keeping your elbows out in front of you). These squats require a lot of midsection stabilization, which is where the abs come into play. This will build your legs but boy will you feel it in your abs!

C. Mountain Climbers On Floor
You start in a pushup position (flat on the floor). You then bring your feet in and out, alternating. The motion will look like you're climbing a mountain (but you're flat on the floor). You can also add your arms to the mix (8 - 10 inches in front of you. This adds a great degree of difficulty and makes for a great full body exercise.

Rest fo about 30 seconds between each exercise. Rest for 1 to 2 minutes after each "tri-set". Then repeat the tri-set process for as many "sets" as you desire. It will give you one of the BEST flat abs exercise workouts you've ever had. Try it and see how you feel the next day. I guarantee you'll be hooked.
